“You don’t wanna see me get vexed now!”
A little warning. A bit of attitude. And a whole lot of London swagger.
With VEXED, I wanted to create something that had a bit of bite but didn’t take itself too seriously. Something dark, cheeky and full of attitude, with that unmistakable London edge.
The track revolves around a proper London-style vocal that immediately sets the mood. There’s something about the delivery that makes me smile. It’s confrontational, a little cocky, but with a mischievous edge that gives the whole thing its character.
Musically, I wanted to play with tension, gradually building the pressure and letting things develop rather than giving everything away too early. There’s some serious neuro business going on underneath, but I wanted to keep that sense of fun running through it.
For me, that’s what VEXED is all about. A bit of swagger, a bit of menace, and a cheeky grin thrown in for good measure.
VEXED. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Out now on Spotify / Beatport / Soundcloud / Bandcamp
